Description
A close-up of a delicate iris reveals so much of the beauty that we can over look unless we stop and be still.
I love the delicate nature of a Bearded Iris. This lavender flower shows the frills of the lovely petals that fold over each other and seem to try to be hiding the beard within. But how can they hide this bright orange texture that is so unique to this species of Iris! The word Iris is derived from a Greek word that means "rainbow." Anyone who is lucky enough to have a perennial garden filled with several types of Iris plants can agree that they provide the feel of a rainbow on earth! I have several types in my Ohio garden and enjoy their bursts of color during the Spring!
This particular photograph won first place in the Westbridge Camera Club September Open Competition. The Fine Arts America logo will not appear on purchased copies.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
