Description
A summer garden in Ohio, is a beautiful, peaceful place, especially if you are there and joined by a few butterflies! If a Pipevine Swallowtail should be one of those butterflies, you would consider yourself lucky indeed! The beautiful contrast of blue and orange on the wing is really eye-catching. If you can get close, you can also see that the body of this little creature is an iridescent blue as well! These butterflies are a medium size and I think because they are so beautiful, they do not tarry long in any one spot. If you want to get a photograph of one, you must be very patient and still. This one is especially beautiful and in really great shape! I have butterfly bushes which attract many butterflies, but the flower that really keeps them fluttering around and in my garden for long periods are these purple Verbena Bonariensis flowers.
To be in a summer garden surrounded by butterflies floating and fluttering all around, is heaven on earth. You cannot help but to have a smile on your face and joy in your heart, if you just take the time to stop and soak it in!
