Description
This is a black and white version of my original image titled, "Buttercup." I must admit that this flower is not actually a 'Buttercup" flower (Ranunculaceae.) I am not positive what kind it is, but am guessing it to be a type of daisy (Asteraceae.) BUT, when I looked at the image, I just thought "buttercup," and so I used my poetic license on that title.
I have hundreds (ok, maybe over a thousand) flowers growing in my yard . . . but I still have difficulty cutting any of them to bring inside to enjoy! I love all the color in my garden and kind of feel guilty cutting them and thinking they will die just a little sooner than otherwise. Little crazy, I know.
So! I really enjoy when my daughters bring me bouquets! I love how they brighten a room, how they smell and best of all . . . I can photograph them rain or shine! So this lovely little jewel was in a Mother's Day arrangement. What I find really cool is that this is a very tiny flower! probably considered a 'filler' by the florists . . . but like so many things in life, nothing is insignificant . . . everything has value and purpose . . . and it is nice to appreciate the little 'workers' that surround the stars of the show!
Please look for both versions of this little star in my "Series' Collection. Thank you so much for looking at my work. I really appreciate you spending a moment of your day with me! I hope it made you smile or think or both! :)
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
