Description
The northern cardinal is a North American bird in the genus Cardinalis; it is also known colloquially as the redbird or common cardinal. It can be found in southern Canada, through the eastern United States from Maine to Texas and south through Mexico. It is found in woodlands, gardens, shrub-lands, and swamps.
To our great delight, Cardinals like to stick together in winter and during cold Ohio days, and especially right around dusk, they will flock to our feeders and brighten even the grayest of days! This Male was an especially handsome one!

Your photos are so tastefully and artistically done Karen. Such attention to colour and detail and nothing superfluous..simple and stunning. That little crimson bird is SO beautiful in this sparkling setting of light and fir branches. v/f

Thank you, Jane. These Cardinals come to my feeder sometimes in a group of 8-10! Quite a sight!
