Description
Last week my camera broke! It was very difficult seeing butterflies fluttering around in my garden and not be able to run out and snap a shot or two. I am not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing now, because it was so bad, it would have cost as much to repair as to get another...so this is now with my new Canon X3i. I am falling in love with this camera rather quickly!
This was taken on a beautiful Sunday in the late afternoon. We had company much of the day, the house needed cleaning and a trip to the grocery made me think I was not going to get any pictures taken. I took the dogs out back for a run and then I spotted this gorgeous Eastern Tiger Swallowtail in the shade of a Butterfly bush. It was a cool day so he was very content to just rest on the flowers and spread his wings while finding nectar. I was able to get several shots that I really love and will be getting them on FAA as soon as life gives me time to get them ready! I hope you enjoy this one!

Thank you so much for taking time to look through my images and collections. I really appreciate your time!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

Nicely captured, glad to hear your enjoying the new camera -- always a gut punch when what you're using catastrophically breaks!
Karen Adams replied:
Yes, so true! I hate spending money, so I especially don't take it well! 😄 Thanks for your comment, William!

Beautiful photo of this Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly! I enjoyed reading your bio and about your passion for Butterflies, for I too have a passion for them and all of nature. I see a photo in everything I view outside. Even the falling acorns! LOL L/F
