Description
This is The Long Road Home.
It's a narrow two lane road much of the way that I would drive between my home in northern Columbus, Ohio to a nice college town, Delaware, Ohio. Ohio Wesleyan University takes up a good part of this nice town and adds vitality to the local population that calls this home. My parents lived there for the final few years of their lives and made many wonderful friends. This road has a very special place in my heart and each scene tugs a memory out from my heart.
I worked on this scene and came up with a couple of other versions that I like . . . so look in my Series Collection soon and see what else I've done with this one!
Thank you so much for taking time to look through my images and collections. I really appreciate your time!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

Love the timeless feel to this piece and the wonderful atmosphere captured with the moody sky and the old church building as well as the car headlights coming toward us.

You have taken something that normally would be pedestrian in nature and presented it as something much more than common. Proof that art can be found all around us. Your composition, along with the tone and texture are quite engaging, thought provoking, and yes...beautiful. Very nicely done!
Karen Adams replied:
Thanks so much, Steve. I feel fortunate that I was able to work with this image and get to a look that was my feeling (if that makes any sense) There is a definite melancholy and longing for the past for me here.
