Description
Bright and bold splashes of color in my Ohio garden from many varieties of flowers are the joy of summer! Marigolds are sturdy reliable treasures year after year.
Marigolds are native to South America, Mexico and the southwestern United States.
These flowers (Tagetes spp.) have been found in gardens worldwide for hundreds of years. Marigolds are popular to many gardeners because of their cheerful bright orange and yellow blooms, ease of care and few problems with insects and disease. Some gardeners believe the flower can protect plants from insect pests, although research studies have not supported these claims. I have been told that rabbits do not like them, but I have also witnessed a fat bunny sit in my garden munching happily on a rapidly disappearing marigold plant. Most of the time, however they last from spring to late Fall and I love them!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
