Description
The Earth seems to clutch itself tightly in the winter trying to stay warm. It shivers against cold gusts of frosty wind and lays still under blankets of fresh snow. Slowly, as the days get longer and brighter; and the gusts of wind become warm breezes. Gray becomes blue and tiny plants bravely raise their heads and turn their little faces up towards the shining sun.
One of the first to make their appearance are Pansies. They look so delicate, but they are a very hardy lot! So treasured, they were named the annual flower of the year for 2017 according to my local newspaper, The Columbus Dispatch:
"If any flower truly deserves the description 'cute,' it's pansies.
They look so much like cheerful little faces, in fact, that my computer's photo-editing program keeps trying to classify their images as real people.
That anthropomorphic charm is just one of the reasons that the National Garden Bureau has declared 2017 the "year of the pansy." . . . . April 2, 2017 By Diana Lockwood
And so this White on white Pansy portrait is a tribute to these sturdy, yet cute occupants of my Ohio garden!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
