Description
I am always a little uncomfortable looking at the gorilla and chimpanzee exhibits at our beautiful Columbus Zoo. This female was sitting alone in the shade of a large boulder with a distant stare. I wonder what she was thinking about? Is the safety of being forever confined, all be it, in a large, comfortable, fun-filled area, worth the price of freedom? Is she sitting here content with her life, or dreaming of a different one? Maybe she is just patiently waiting for her next meal to be delivered!

I always wonder what they are thinking too! I wish every animal could know freedom but I know that is not realistic. My hope she is happy, so I am going with she is waiting for her next meal to be delivered. Animals are always hungry. :-)) Wonderful shot, Karen...
