Description
This is the actual photograph that I have based my Moon series on.
It was an Ohio sunset, but the moon was brighter than the sun that had just dipped below the horizon. . . . two days before Christmas, 2015. It was so bright, I am a bit surprised that it is not actually even a Full moon . . . that came the next two days. This was a Waxing Gibbous Moon. The night was still and cold . . . and seemed full of anticipation . . . maybe that was because Christmas was near . . . but this beauty certainly felt like an early gift from Nature . . . and I stood out in the chill absorbing the peace and calm of the soft night sky.
This original image gave me so much interesting mood in the branches and the textures and patterns there, that I began to play with the colors a bit and textures even more . . . . and from that play came my series of this Moon scene.
