Description
Bumblebees work hard and do a lot of good for mankind by being very effective pollinators. They are first of all fast workers (for instance, they visit twice as many flowers per minute as honeybees), and because of their size, they can carry relatively heavy loads, which enables them to make long foraging trips. Also due to their relatively large size they often achieve better contact with stamens and pistils than smaller insects.
If you like almonds, apples, apricots, berries, cherries, kiwis, peaches, pears, plums, eggplant, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage or carrots. . . . you just may have bumblebees to thank!
Let's hope the world and its leaders . . . and each of us as individuals . . . . will do our part to keep our world buzzing!!
