Description
Loyally waiting at home . . .
When we leave the house, there is always something we can count on; and that is this scene in our front window. I cannot say that she stays there the entire time we are gone. I am hoping she curls up in her bed (which she is sitting in here) and takes a little nap. I kind of think she does not sleep while we are gone though. She is SO excited every time we return. she jumps up, licks, runs around and eventually collapses when I sit down and almost immediately falls asleep, happy that she is once again with "Mommy."
This is Sunshine (Sunny) our three year old Cavachon. Cavachons are a small dog that are a cross breed of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frise. The breed is known for being affectionate, cheerful, friendly, gentle, lively, loving, out-going, playful, social, and sweet. Sunny is really great with children and other dogs. She loves everyone! Staying true to her name, she loves to lay in the sun! She is my Little Sunshine!
The most common colors for Cavachons are black and tan, brown, red, tricolor, and white.

I love the picture, Karen. It reminds me of my little Piccola, my Burmese cat. Sunny looks at you the same way she does with loving sweet eyes and such an adoring expression on his face. I love how you write about him, so natural and loving and without artificiality.

Oh, that sweet little face. Sunshine is so expressive and you have really captured her sweet soulful eyes. L/F

Those eyes! What a sweetie. I think our pets can feel our car or footsteps no matter how many miles away. My Siamese would always wait at the door but my husband said he didn't go there until a few minutes before I came in, no matter how long I was gone. They just know. l/f
Karen Adams replied:
That is SO TRUE, Kay! They can supposedly see great distances and hear way better than we can! So wonderful to be greeted with such joy every single time! They are pure love!

The "Welcome Home" gaze... whether been gone for 15 minutes , or 5 hours...the same look. Gotta love Dogs. Lovely shot of your most faithful friend.

She is an angel face Karen, and I bet your best friend and your little shadow as well. Reminds me so much of our Maltese we lost some years back. They are our family, and even often better than some! So selfless and so loving. Beautiful and precious capture. Turning my heart to mush.
Karen Adams replied:
That is a funny oxymoron I had never come up with, Sharon: Sunshine is my shadow! Title for my next portrait of her I think!!
