Description
What's black and white . . . with red and blue spots, orange antenna and powder blue legs? A Zebra Swallowtail butterfly, that's what!
I remember the very first time I noticed one of these beauties! It was a very hot sunny Sunday afternoon in my Ohio garden. I had just started that summer trying to take photos of butterflies after my Dad gave me a book about Ohio butterflies. He loved butterflies since he was young, and his love infected me! I had the bug, but I really got hooked when I saw this particular Zebra Swallowtail! I just thought it was so stunning! Now that I have seen many of them, I realize that one was especially large and in perfect shape! I think, God really wanted to give me a special gift and it sure was . . . it is probably one of the hours of my life that I will always remember!
This Zebra did not stay around for long at all. I got 10 clicks and he flew away! I sure hope he comes back for another visit!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
