Description
My grandchildren love these tall purple globes that spring up in my Ohio garden every Spring! I love their sculptural form and lovely bright color. I think the kids love that they look like balls, or bubbles, or fireworks even! Imagination can run wild in a child's mind and isn't it wonderful that I can plant a few bulbs in the dirt that will help those imaginations grow tall and strong, just like these wonderful Globe Alliums!
Another reason I love these is their reliability. A member of the Amaryllidaceae family, Allium are commonly called Flowering Onions and lucky for all of us, deer and rodents do not have a taste for onions.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
