This Happy Halloween chalk drawing is the last art work done by my dad, George Wood. He created this one month before his death in November of 2013. He was in very bad shape having suffered a major stroke in the summer. His hands shook badly and his writing was difficult to read. When he heard a group of children were coming to their retirement village for a Halloween party, he got to work. He drew this wonderfully whimsical scene and secured it so it would stand tall at the door to the party. It made him happy and proud that he could still do some of the things that filled his life with meaning and joy: Creating beautiful art and making others happy. . . . so I share this with all of you . . . from Dad, "Happy Halloween!"

Then your time on Earth will be filled with glory" ~ Betty Smith, American author (1896-1972) I have always loved taking pictures. I majored in Fine Arts at Ohio University in Athens where I concentrated on painting and ceramics. Photography was a hobby I loved, but have still never taken a class. Hopefully, I will get around to that some...
