Description
Quarantine causes one to look for art in many familiar places. This is another version of the box Grandpa Fox built. I've played with the textures and colors and used a kaleidoscope filter on the fabric pattern. and here is the story of grandpa Fox's box:
Grandpa Fox built a box years ago. It is very simple, very rustic. We painted it a light blue maybe thirty years ago and covered it with a thick sturdy upholstery fabric. Since then our beloved dogs have found it to be just the right height to sit on and look through windows at all the activity in the world outside the glass.
First Heidi enjoyed it in our quiet newlywed home. Then it and she moved with us & our little kids into a bigger and much noisier home. She grew old and tired. Finally, it sat unused for several years serving only a purpose of remembrance.
Then a new little fluff ball eventually learned to jump up on to it and enjoy her reality show as well. She would sit quietly observing the world and watch anxiously for our return. The house was just as busy with the noise of teenagers' coming and goings. Then it and she moved into a newer and bigger house. Eventually, it became hard for her to jump up and I would place her on it for a bit and then carefully help her down. . . and then once again it sat alone.
Now we have another set of paws jumping onto the old fabric that has held up so well through many years. Sunshine barks at everything she sees, hears or thinks she hears. It is her guard station and entertainment in a house that is mostly quiet again until grandkids run through the front door.
Grandpa Fox built a box and with it he has had a place in our home through every single day and happening. I never even knew him, but he has been with me for all these years.

Very cool image. Love how it stitches everything together into such a pleasing image. It takes an image that means something to you creates something new...:-)
