Description
I planted quite a few Lantana plants in my Ohio garden this year as they are butterfly magnets! I have been thrilled with their beauty in addition to the butterfly or two that they have played host to! I was out with my macro lens today and noticed the delicate beauty of the buds of the flowers, just waiting to open. Later, when I was able to look at these images much larger on my computer screen, I was even more amazed at the beauty hidden in this tiny wonder! This is a summer Christmas tree . . . packed with tiny presents waiting to be opened! The design is really delicate and lovely with the alternating soft greens and whites in the center, surrounded by pale yellow cushions. I was also thrilled to see that by the close focus on this beauty, the camera had created an abstract background as well! For me, this is Christmas in August!
I have several different versions of this image where I played with the background just a bit. You can see all of these in my Series Gallery.

So neat Karen... brings back memories of Candy corn...and eating so many that all my siblings and I would lay on the couch groining about our sore stomachs. Thanks for the moment of yester year...:-)

beautiful Lantana Karen. My garden is full of them, they are very common in Thailand and you're right, they attract butterflies. I also feed the butterflies with old fruits when they start to be to ripe, they love it. I share your picture also on pinterest. I invited you to post all your butterflies on my butterflies bord if you want to
