Description
This past summer when I visited the beautiful Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Columbus, Ohio, my main goal was to see the butterfly Exhibit. I was lucky to arrive just before the daily butterfly release and so I was quite busy enjoying those lovely creatures and following them all over the exhibit trying to capture them with my camera.
But, every now and then, my eyes were pulled away from the fluttering wings and were drawn to the beauty of the plants and flowers that were usually serving as my backdrops! This flower was an obvious attention grabber! It quietly and patiently waited for the butterfly I was admiring to fly away . . . and then, I took a second to really look at these flowers. Boy, I am sure happy I took the moment to look at what I was not looking for! As I look at this image, it reminds me to remember to look at life that way too. The gifts we receive each day are probably not the ones we wake up and chase. They are just there, quietly waiting for me to notice!
I really appreciate you taking time to look at my artwork. Thank you so much!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

I had the same experience at our butterfly park! The indoor conservatory was rich with tropical flowering plants and vines...and most of my photos were not on wings! This plant is lovely! F/L+
