It was a hot September week. Summer did not want to release its grip on us so easily it seemed.....so we made a plan to take the kids to the Scioto Mile Fountian. A fantasy playland for young and old which is the centerpiece of Bicentennial Park and the Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

The metal sculptures form whimsical artforms that also shower rain and mist from above, while we dance between the small rows of fountains that spurt up from invisible holes in concrete. To add to the excitement and little ones joys, the fountains change from tiny sputters to tall gushers and recede back down making for daring games of leaping over the rows of water. This darling little one was so brave.....probably just a two year old, but she was so enthralled with it all, she just ran and played all by herself lost in the wonder of water!


This fantastic spot to visit was designed by The Waterworx Company of Toronto, Ontario. It is a fun place to play or just sit and watch. At night the fountain is a new magical delight by unique lighting and fog effects. If you ever visit Columbus, you've got to see it!
