Description
My Ohio garden is a busy, bustling place, with creatures scurrying about and beautiful birds and butterflies constantly flying around me as I work. With so much activity, it is surprising to say that it is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been. Butterflies somehow find the wildflowers blooming in my garden and flutter around for hours from flower to flower, unknowingly posing for pictures as they sip!
Monarchs love milkweed plants. They actually must have them to grow from caterpillar to butterfly! The Monarch butterfly can be a very emotional reminder to some. The site of one as we were burying a beloved family member brought such peace to me on that day and I have had so many other people share similar feelings towards this beautiful creature. Butterflies are a lovely symbol of rebirth and new life!
The story of the Monarch's journey back and forth to Mexico is an incredible one, almost impossible to believe. I am happy to provide a resting spot for these travelers in my garden by providing shelter spots, milkweed, and muddy puddles for them to drink from. MonarchWatch.org can help anyone learn what to do in order to help the continued existence of these beautiful butterflies!
Beauty is all around us. Our earth is a glorious place and if we take time to appreciate it, then we will all know that we have to do our part to save it as well.
Please consider doing a small part to help the survival of these beautiful unique creatures. visit Monarchwatch.org and get information on what needs to be done to help. You can order seed packets of plants that butterflies thrive on. The Monarch must have Milkweed plants and our society is wiping that plant off the face of the earth. Please consider finding a spot you could plant Milkweed. If you know an organization that might be interested in helping, Monarchwatch.org will send FREE Milkweed seed to you. So do something, if you can! http://monarchwatch.org/bring-back-the-monarchs/milkweed/free-milkweeds
You will receive much more than you give.
Of course, many folks cannot look at a Monarch without now being aware of their precarious fight for existence.

Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
