Description
A cold January day is a perfect time to go back and look at past summers in Ohio. Every day is a great day to look at a Monarch butterfly! This image was taken in September of 2012 in my backyard garden. Monarchs stop by in Ohio late in the summer on their journey from Canada to Mexico. I try to have as much sustenance for them growing in my yard as possible. Milkweed is necessary for the caterpillars, but the travelers really seem to love my tall purple verbena!
