I love pine forests! In my opinion, they are the most beautiful forests in the world. I love the soft needle carpet under my feet and the soft long green needles over head. It always seems quiet under an evergreen canopy.

Under a stately Pine tree!
I was walking under huge swaying Pine trees on a cool damp Ohio Spring day. It was quiet as almost everyone was staying inside on this day. I've lost count, but maybe it's day 50 of quarantine? I was looking for hope. I was looking for joy. I was pining for simple things I took for granted just 50 days earlier. Taking care of grandchildren . . . running errands . . . watching soccer games . . . hanging out with friends and family. I was pining for everything that seemed lost. I just stood there and looked up and after just a few minutes of doing that I felt gratitude slowly filling me up.
