Description
It seems funny to call this an Orange Sulphur butterfly since what you can normally see is quite a lovely lemon yellow color. . . but when you see this beauty in flight, you can catch a glimpse of the wonderful orange on the top (dorsal) wings of the male. You have to look closely at this one, but you can see the antennae are actually pink and the wings are rimmed in pink. You can also faintly make out the beauty that lies within those folded wings . . . you see the hint of the black outline on the other side and below that is the orange! Such small creatures . . . but they give me so much joy!
I also really love how the background came out here. It reminds me of a bridesmaid dress I wore years (and years) ago for a dear high school friend's wedding. Funny what things bring back buried memories!
