Pearl Crescent butterflies are very tiny. In fact you probably don't notice them many times that they are around you. This little beauty wanted to be sure that I knew he was in my garden. When I stepped outside this afternoon, it came and landed on my shoulder. I barely breathed and it stayed there for a good minute or two gently moving its wings back and forth. Then it flew away.

I went down into the garden and was taking pictures of Cabbage Whites and American Painted Ladies when it flew by me and landed on a leaf not far from where I stood. As you can see by the leaf, a Pearl Crescent is quite small, but well worth the effort in trying to spot them!

I believe this was a special little messenger from heaven sent to comfort me on this day.
