I have a basket of Pine Cones sitting on my front porch all winter. There is something really special about these that always draws my attention. I actually spent quite a bit of time trying to get just the right 'portrait' of one of these pine cones! The texture reminds me of many of my dad's carvings. I like to think that just like my father crafted so many beautiful things during his time on Earth, that these serve as reminders of our Father's love for this Earth and the great care given for every detail one it.
