Description
This is another shot taken at the same time as Poppy Plop Art . . . giving a little more away about the beautiful flower!
Late May in Ohio has been unusual this year. In addition to staying at home, the weather has decided to keeps us guessing about the passage of time. Some days I am still having to wear my winter coat to go out and walk the dog. Two days later I am hardly able to make it around our trek because it is so hot and the pup is desperate for a cold drink of water. Two days later, it seems to be a gorgeous Fall day . . . but it's still May. It is very confusing and time seems to have lost any perspective.
After the very cold spell, a very warm front moved in, and as you know, that brings storms! We had some real cloud breaks overhead early afternoon. By late afternoon, I went out with my camera to enjoy the ambiance that follows a storm. It is one of my favorite times to be outside. Birds are singing loudly . . . I imagine them saying to each other, "Man! did you see that rain coming down? Is everybody ok? I'm soaking wet! Did anyone see a rainbow?" I hear the drip drip drip of drops still falling from tree leaves bent low with the weight of the water. I hear the waterfall behind our house rushing and churning.
I also love the quiet corners of the garden. Many flowers are still bent from the storm. Some are bravely still holding their heads high. I was surprised this Poppy had withstood the torrent, but so thankful it had! Alone in my garden, deep in nature I realize time doesn't really matter.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much. Be safe and be kind to one another!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

So many droplets, such a beautiful flower. Incredible macro Karen. Well done...:-) its good when you can hear those little voices, too often they are unheard and unnoticed... you always have an ear and an eye for these things which most will never see of hear. When you share them, you add so much to them..:-)
