This is a picture of a Banded Purplewing butterfly trio on a Heliconia plant at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio. I dedicate this image to my wonderful sister, who had no idea what she was getting into when she agreed to go to the Conservatory with me. There is a huge room filled with plants and butterflies. Heaven on earth to me...especially when shared with her! I took about 400 pictures!

We went up to a viewing deck and looked down on the peaceful scene below. So many beautiful butterflies floating by in and among the equally beautiful vegetation. And it was from this vantage point that we spotted this scene. I thought about naming this "Banded Purplewing Butterfly Trio," but then a better title came to mind.

When my sister, Linda and I were in college and high school, we went to Florida for Spring break and stayed with our grandparents. (I know, kind of lame.) One time , she and I were driving and got lost in a Spanish speaking area of the city. We finally stopped an older gentleman on the street to ask him for directions. I had taken several years of Spanish by then, so was pretty sure I could handle this. Well, during the conversation I did something that would have caused my teachers to give up forever, I'm afraid. I tried to tell this nice man our names. I said, "Me llamo, Karen y ella es Linda." He replied, "Si, ella es muy linda!"....Well what I had told him was, "my name is Karen and she is pretty," Of course, he agreed! He must have thought I was a very nice person anyway.

So I call this Que Linda,, (So Pretty,) because when I look at this, I will always think of a great day spent with my pretty sister!
