Description
If you leave your porch light on at night, you will attract moths . . and many other bugs. This little visitor was waiting for me when I opened our front door one morning to get my newspaper. My morning puzzles would have to wait until I got a picture or two of this pretty little thing! At first I thought it was another Wavy Lined Emerald Moth, but it is a little bigger than that and obviously has the rust colors. So I sent my images to Butterflies and Moths of North America (BAMONA) to be identified. Those folks are awesome! Within a day, I had my answer: a Red Fringed Emerald Moth (Nemoria bistriaria,) Family: Geometridae.
Thank you so much for spending your time to visit my artwork. I hope you enjoy them and that they speak to you in some positive way!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
