My dad, George Wood painted this beautiful painting of red Poinsettias to decorate our home at Christmas time. It was always a joyous sight when He would bring this out of storage. Mom and dad decorated their home from top to bottom for the Holidays. Dad would get boxes out of the attic and mom would carefully unwrapped their seasonal treasures, many of them gifts from friends and loved ones. While mom was busy baking Holiday treats in the kitchen, dad would be busy painting a new Christmas scene on our living room picture window. He would create knickknacks and carvings, drawings and paintings to celebrate this best time of year. He didn't stop with the house, there were many years that he created festive designs and decor for our church as well. I remember several years when he and a couple of helpers would climb up on the church roof to install large Peace Doves, or crosses that he designed and created. Dad loved Christmas . . . I'm thankful that his art, and mom and dad's steady faith continues to bless our families during this season and year round.
