Description
Between our house on the beach and the neighboring one lays a sad deserted piece of memories. I assume maybe the original home along this beachfront stood in that spot. There is a boardwalk to a landing that has been roped off with a sign stating, "No trespassing." . . . and you'd better heed that warning because the steps down to the beach below have been broken away and a long falls awaits anyone who doesn't.
Flowers still bloom and driftwood lays basking in the warm sunshine with tiny lizards, frogs and butterfly inhabitants . . . and one chair sits there looking out over the ocean. I never saw anyone sit in it, but my mind fills the scene with stories of what could have been. Did someone like to sit there and enjoy the beautiful scene, or were they waiting for someone . . . or just missing someone? I will never know, but maybe for me that is the beauty of this scene!
