Description
The sun was setting beyond the horizon on December 30, 2016 in Ohio, painting rainbow bands of pastel beauty across the sky: an ever changing scene that lasted just a few minutes. . . . and yes, this truly was the color of the sky! My mind filled with the song my scout troops would sing and a peace settled in as I absorbed the great beauty of our world! I looked back and remembered . . . and looked forward with Hope!
Day is done, gone the sun,
From the lake, from the hills, from the sky;
All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.
Fading light, dims the sight,
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright.
From afar, drawing nigh, falls the night.
Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, 'neath the stars, neath the sky;
As we go, this we know, God is nigh.
Sun has set, shadows come,
Time has fled, Scouts must go to their beds
Always true to the promise that they made.
While the light fades from sight,
And the stars gleaming rays softly send,
To thy hands we our souls, Lord, commend.

Kevin, your comments are always so uplifting and insightful! I just read a quote the other day that said (this is a loose quote from memory) "A birth certificate proves we were born, a death certificate proves we died, and photos prove that we lived!" I really loved that and hope that life is fully experienced and appreciated!! Live in gratitude!
