On a very cold Ohio morning in February, I let my little dog outside for her morning ritual. A light dusting of snow had fallen through the night and it was glistening in the morning sunshine. The sun was shining, but it was still very cold.
I was just standing there, looking around and admiring how pretty the yard looked with this beautiful new layer of white. I filled the bird feeder and as I was walking back towards the house, I noticed all these little footprints on our stone steps that lead further out into the yard. I admired how clear each print was and thought it made a really interesting pattern. I also thought it was pretty funny, because it sort of looked like this bird was still hung over from the night before!
Of course, I ran inside and grabbed my camera and took about a dozen shots, trying to figure the best angle and finding that the light was changing with every shot as the sun would go in and out of clouds. I finally came up with this image which I am real...

An excellent abstraction of these steps. The shrinking rectangles are a great pattern but the footprints on them are wonderful. Glad I felt like seeing snow this morning. v/f
