Description
Black and white is a nice description for a type of picture......but really the beauty in black and white are the grays . . . the subtlety of details and complexities of life are found in the gray areas when we have to figure out right or wrong, good or bad when there is a mix of both to wrestle with! We don't live in black and white and those who try become very rigid and intolerant. We live in Grays.
Everything on Earth has value and is here for some purpose. Things we view as weeds or problems in life might actually be gifts to us. There is great beauty in the common dandelion that we battle with such ferocity in our yards. Children who haven't been taught to hate them, see their beauty. They pick bouquets for their mommies filled with bright yellow puffed blooms ( years ago, I was shooed from my house rather abruptly when my mom started sneezing with her severe allergies!) . . . but there is beauty . . . and joy when you blow on these lovely delicate geometric wonders and seeds float out into the air filled with wishes and spreading themselves around the Earth! They can be symbols of things that maybe we have judged too quickly and should learn to try to accept and love.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
