Description
It's early March in Ohio. Is it winter or is it spring? It really depends on the day. Yesterday was sunny and mild. Today is cold, grey and gloomy. We seem to be teetering between two realities. In my mind, I am ready to say good-bye to winter, but then I get little jewels like this in my yard and I am grateful that we have had one more cold morning!
Today, I have been putting away any winter decorations that are still out on display in my home. I must confess through the years I have gathered way too way things to clutter up my house! But I love each little trinket, each arrangement, picture and sculpture. Yes, I have a lot! But, it is March and I am ready for snow to be gone and spring to come. I am tired of walking with cold wind whipping my face each day as I take the pup around our neighborhood. Another grey blustery day just might even make me feel grumpy . . . . but then I realize if it wasn't for this in between time, I wouldn't see beauty in my yard like this. It is during these 'in-between times' that rain comes down from the clouds and freezes in sparkling droplets. Spring is coming, but winter doesn't quite want to leave us yet. I wonder if that is just life in general. Many of us don't like change. The fear of what lies ahead can leave many of us frozen. So I look at the beauty and go forth in faith that whatever comes will be beautiful and also try to remember to appreciate the 'in-between time.'
This is the original version of this scene and I really love the warm rusty browns of the background.. A second version of this image is called "Sparkle." They can both be found in my Gallery called Series.

Thank you so much for taking your time to look at this image. I know time is precious, and I really appreciate the moments you spend with me and my view of the world!
I am so concerned with our environment that I have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

Oh my!!! This is just stunning Karen. SO many droplets. Love the selective focus, gives the image so much depth, almost 3D. The clarity and bokeh together in this image is just perfect... Well done Karen...:-)
