Description
I have a lot of squirrels in my garden! They jump from nearby trees to the tops of my bird feeders and munch happily alongside the birds. A lot of sunflower seeds end up on the ground below, so it always seems to be crowded with squirrels and chipmunks who don't all fit on top. I used to try to keep them off the feeders, but found I was wasting a lot of my day in this vain effort. So now, I just grease the poles and hope for the best. The birds still seem to get most of the sunflower seeds.
One day recently, I let my daughter's dog, a Brittany Spaniel, out back. He was so excited I think he missed every step down the porch to race out to the yard. Well, he scared the squirrels, who went running wild in every direction. One, just happened to run right where my big old pup was headed. They collided; head first, knocking both of them over! Before I could say or do a thing, they both popped right back up and kept running where they had been headed! The Brittany didn't even take time to worry about what had hit him; he just wanted to run! I laughed and laughed.
So, now I am not really sure if this squirrel is playing peek-a-Boo or if he is just checking to see if the coast is clear!
Thank you so much for taking time to look through my images and collections. I really appreciate your time!

This is so funny. I couldn't see the squirrel until I enlarged the photo. Do you think this squirrel is peeling the bark too! I love that you write long stories about little things that happen in the yard Karen! I hope you are well and you are surviving the hard times! I hope you submitted this to the squirrel group! FV... See you again soon!
