Life is messy . . . (anyone who has raised children knows that) or even had a pet of any kind!! . . . but at the end of the day...when you lay your head on your pillow . . . I bet many times those are the parts of the day you remember...those are the times when you are most alive! I also have to say, that I love this picture, bare feet and all, more than the studio portraits that I have of her.....because this really shows who she was!
This is my mother when she was 2 years old. She really seems to be enjoying a Sugar Daddy candy bar! My Grandmother took several pictures of little Lura making a complete sticky mess of herself. I am so grateful that my Grandmother did not stress about that, but saw the complete joy and enjoyment of the moment. This is one of my family's favorite pictures of my dear mom, who lived life just like this pictures shows....with complete joy and enthusiasm and never afraid to get a little dirty!

My Mom and my Dad loved the outdoors! Our vacations were always camping ones . . . so many hikes and pancake breakfasts and campfires. They filled me with such a love for this world.....and that is why I am so concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
