Description
This is the companion to Winter Lines which is a vertical version of this scene. There was just something about that little tree on the top of the hill that fascinated me.
It was the first day of Spring in Ohio and so of course, we had a snow storm that lasted all night. It was a wet snow that clung to every branch and limb. The earth was 'warm' and so the 'sugar coatings' were mainly sticking to the grass and vegetation. As I walked along with my dog, Sunshine, I noticed that tree standing atop the hill. It seemed to be looking down on us and the frigid stream bed beside us. The tap-tapping of a woodpecker and the rush of freezing water crashing over the small rocky waterfall was the only sound. That small tree stood quietly, strong and brave, just watching us.
Thank you so much for taking time to look through my images and collections. I really appreciate your time!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
