A flashback to nostalgia. Photography at a simpler time, well before the hustle of life in today's modern era. Fine work. 1951 was the year I was born.

Artist's Description

Mom was Mary, Dad was Joseph in a church nativity scene when they met in 1950. She had just graduated from Middlebury College and moved to Columbus to live with her aunt. Dad was just finishing his years at Ohio State. They fell head over heels for each other and when Dad was drafted, they wasted no time getting married in the Fall of 1951. Luckily, he was stationed at Fort Monmouth and within a year, my sister was born. Soon they were settling down in Columbus with their two daughters and a son. Growing up I remembered they kissed each other a lot! They laughed a lot. They did so many things together. They loved life and made friends everywhere they went. Mom took care of Dad after his open heart surgery, Dad took care of Mom when she had several serious health problems. This past November, Dad's heart could go no more and his loss was almost unbearable. Mom tried to be strong and carry on, but her heart was broken and she followed him 100 days later. My brother and sister...

Then your time on Earth will be filled with glory" ~ Betty Smith, American author (1896-1972) I have always loved taking pictures. I majored in Fine Arts at Ohio University in Athens where I concentrated on painting and ceramics. Photography was a hobby I loved, but have still never taken a class. Hopefully, I will get around to that some...
