Description
I’m Tired of Winter
I’m tired of winter’s snow and slush
And icy roads when I want to rush
I’m tired of sleet and freezing rain
And shoveling snow’s ache and pain
I’m tired of cold and blizzard furry
And going slow when I want to hurry.
I’m tired of scarves, gloves, coat and hat
And ski pants that make me look fat.
I do love blue skies and fresh fallen snow
Glistening in the cool solar glow
And a walk in a peaceful winter wood
Always makes the soul feel good
Enjoying warm hot cocoa sips
And playing with marshmallow ships.
But now I long for blooms and flowers
Buzzing bees and soft Spring showers
So now that it is March I say
I wish that winter would go away!
This is part of a series of images taken on a snowy February day. It had snowed all day Sunday and slowly warmed through the night with precipitation changing to freezing mists in the dawn. The snow slowly became slush, but persisted staying in its frozen state well into the day. The ground was covered in lovely natural abstracts.
I think it is so important to be aware of the tracks of life.

I hear ya loud and clear! Great title for the end of winter blues. And I love your poem! I also write poetry. Ok, trying to figure out what exactly this is a picture of. The slushy street, right? But, is the white a sidewalk? Oh wait!....it's a square chuck of snow with a tire mark going through it....yes?
