Ohio has really had crazy weather this year. The Beginning of the week found us sweating through humid days in the 90s and then temperatures dropped dramatically. When our family went to pick pumpkins for our annual outing just five days later, we were bundled in winter coats and shivering in cold 40 degree drizzle. The great thing about this chilly blast was that we were alone in a huge pumpkin patch, able to run through the thousands of orange and yellow globes just waiting to be picked, searching for our favorite!

One of my daughters' family picked the largest most perfect pumpkins their daddy could carry! My other grandchildren picked small pumpkins they could each carry that seemed just the perfect size for them. Everyone left happy with rosy pink cheeks and noses, muddy shoes and pants and another year of happy memories.

No one picked a warty pumpkin, I must admit, although I found them so interesting and beautiful! I sure hope someone chooses this one. I am a big fan of individuality and appreciate the imperfections of life. Not one of us is perfect after all and it is a fool's errand to even try to be. It's much better to accept the warts, the gray hairs and the scars. Remain humble and kind and love one another!
