My heart breaks when I hear that people will soon be in power in the USA who refuse to listen to 99% of the scientists in the world and believe in Global Warming. I love this earth so much, I am going to, I guess do a 'no-no,' and say a political statement here. It doesn't take a scientist to see that there are fewer bees in the world, there are fewer butterflies, there are tremendous swings in dangerous climate and severe weather, contaminated drinking water, more earthquakes from practices such as fracking! . . . just like the scientists have been saying for years!
We finally got the world to actually come to an agreement on the critical nature of this problem! At the Paris climate conference (COP21) in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal. The agreement sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid dangerous climate change by limiting global warming to well below 2�C.
But now, there is a very real chance we will have people in positions of power who deny the science and the obvious evidence and are threatening to back out of an agreement our great country entered into for the good of all mankind!
When I was younger, I had this crazy thought in my mind, that there was some force of good that was protecting society from greedy people just coming in and chopping down trees and ruining the land for their own profits . . . but sadly, I have come to realize that we have to stand up and do the protecting for ourselves.
I am beyond heartsick. Greed left unchecked causes great suffering to so many. The earth is real . . . money is made up by society. We have to speak up and fight the evil that could destroy this planet for our children and their children and their children!
All proceeds from any sales of this image will go directly to The Sierra Club or other organizations who are fighting for our great earth!

A strong and powerful statement, Karen! We the people are at the mercies of all the leaders of the world and the big companies.....that are ruining our one and only earth! God help us and make those people see the harm that they are doing to our earth! l/f

Amen, Deborah . . . and the US will be led by the only leader of a major country who does not believe the science of Global Warming. Makes my heart break, but we will all just have to do our part for the next generations!!

Good for you, Karen. It looks like we're back to big coal as well...and being from West Virginia I have been doing anti-mountain top removal art for several years. They've practically ruined the land there, made lots of people sick, buried the natural streams....and sent the coal on ships to China!!! To the highest bidder...not to turn on our lightbulbs!!
