Marvelous lighting and a precious capture in this fantastic image Karen. i love how you make me think of the duality of our world. warm and cold, black and white, light and dark, happy and sad. however none of them is more special than the other, because without the balance of one and other, they will lost their teaching and meaning. it is in the dark when we see the brightest light. it is when the sun has set before the starry sky can shine. everything is a cycle of life. everything is temporary and forever changing. wow this image is becoming deeper than i thought!! Hahaha! Oh, Kevin! I am afraid we sometimes take ourselves down rabbit holes! :) I do enjoy some of the journeys my mind takes listening to you! Thank you so much for your awesome insights!

Artist's Description

It is very cold. The ground is covered with soft fluffy sparkling crystals of snow. If you want to build a snowman, you are out of luck, because this powder will not pack. it's too cold for snowballs. Even when temperatures are in the single digits, the power of the sun is impressive! Every tree branch is bejeweled with dazzling droplets of near frozen gems that glitter and reflect the winter scene upside down. It makes me think that the world can be cool and warm, liquid and frozen, up and down all at the same time. Life is good and bad; happy and sad, all at the same time.

I really appreciate you taking time to look at my artwork. Thank you so much!

I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

Then your time on Earth will be filled with glory" ~ Betty Smith, American author (1896-1972) I have always loved taking pictures. Hopefully, I will get around to that some...
