Artist's Description
It was early spring and nothing, but a few tiny wildflowers had the courage to appear yet. This big old tree stood out in the quiet woods and seemed to call my name. As I looked at this tall sturdy link from ground to heaven, I wondered how many other people had passed this way and looked at this grand monument of time. How many people had their secrets overheard, but loyally held within. How many people stopped and admired and had similar thoughts to mine? This grand old tree was a chain that connected me to all those who came before and all those yet to come. We are connected to everything. We are not alone in our lives. Together we are all traveling around the Universe on this great ball we call Earth and being grateful is a gift to our hearts.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEF...

I majored in Fine Arts at Ohio University in Athens where I concentrated on painting and ceramics. Photography was a hobby I loved, but have still never taken a class. Love your beautiful thoughts about nature and our place here on earth. I talk to trees all the time....!!! Indeed, I'll recommend a book to you entitled The Trees by Conrad Richter, Knoff, 1940. One of the best books I've ever read. A pioneer family encounters the virgin forest!
Karen Adams replied:
Thank you so much, Nancy! Appreciate that idea! I am hoping some day life quiets down & I can read an adult book once again!
