Artist's Description
I call this my Christmas Cactus, although I don't think I have ever had it bloom at Christmas. It blooms for Thanksgiving. It is blooming now just before Easter. It might bloom during the summer, but never at Christmas!
This particular plant was forgotten when my parents moved from their home of 40 plus years into their retirement village. The house took a while to sell and I would go over each week to check on things, weed the flower beds and rake leaves. I finally saw that this potted plant was not giving up, even though it sat alone in their back garden through cold Fall nights. I relented and put one more thing from Mom's garden into my van and took it home. It has rewarded me so many times through these years with such reliable beauty!
