Beau was mom and dad's most beloved pet. They got him late in their lives, knowing he would be their last dog. They loved him so and spoiled him to no end! Dad walked Beau every singe day, twice a day, rain, shine, snow, heat or sickness, until the day Beau died. Luckily, I had taken some pictures of Beau just a few months earlier and had given them to mom and dad.
When Beau died, my dad told me he was going to draw a picture of Beau from my photo. Dad was 85 and had terrible tremors in his hands, so I didn't think he could pull it off, and so I ordered a framed print of my photo to give to them.
About a week later, I visited them and dad unveiled his pastel drawing of Beau. It was already carefully framed and ready to hang in the lobby of their retirement home. My expensive custom framed photo paled in comparison to his work of love.
He had written this note to go with it:
Beau
