Description
Our family went on our annual trip to walk the hills of the Hocking Hills in Southern Ohio. It was a cloudy day, but occasionally we were lucky enough to see bright blue sky. The air was crisp and it was just a wonderful day to be out in nature, especially being with many members of our family!
This was taken on the walk leading to Ash Cave. It is a very easy walk and is famous for its sandstone cliffs. A deep gorge opens into the wonderful Ash Cave with a waterfall and just enough water to try to skip stones in! The rock cliffs are just as beautiful as the growing plants, with lines carved from the hands of time and layers of sedimentary rock forming lovely patterns. Tree roots grow around jutting boulders and ferns spring up from the moss-covered rock surfaces.
It makes for a really wonderful day!

Thank you for sharing you day and this beautiful location. The cliffs look so interesting hidden behind those tall slender trees! V/F
