Description
This is a really close-up shot of the blooms just beginning to open on a Sedum plant in my Ohio garden. Sedum plants (also known as Stonecrop) are wonderful plants for any garden. The succulent leaves add interest all year and the variety of bloom times give gardeners a lot of flexibility! These plants can serve as upright plants or some varieties serve as beautiful groundcovers.
They are well-known perennials for their distinctive fleshy foliage and come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Star-shaped flowers are usually in clusters or sprays that often change color throughout their bloom time. Stonecrop will flurish in full sun, but will also tolerate some shade.
