Description
This drawing was done by my dad, George Wood, in the mid 1950s. He was a young father of two (maybe three children) by this time, worked a fulltime job at Federal Glass and took night classes at what is now Columbus College of Art and design. He and Mom were also extremely active with our church and many groups there and played softball and occasionally got to play a round of golf. He was a very talented man and I think you can tell, he did not like to just sit around! He and Mom were always so busy and always so happy.
This duck is a part of a series of line drawings he did back during this time of his life. When I took art classes many years later this exercise was always a favorite of mine because of his examples which I remembered from childhood. The task here is to draw without ever lifting your pencil. You put it on the page, draw until you finally lift the pencil off the paper, and then you are done!
