Description
While walking my puppy, I could not keep my eyes off the glorious artwork above my head! The beautiful blue sky was painted with soft paintbrush strokes of Cirrus clouds . . . . .below the blaze of red Autumn maple leaves rustled ever so slightly in a gentle breeze. This was a cool November day in Ohio.
Cirrus clouds are detached clouds in the form of white, delicate filaments, mostly white patches or narrow bands. They may have a fibrous (hair-like) and/or silky sheen appearance. Others may see a feathery feel as well.
Cirrus clouds are always composed of ice crystals, and their transparent character depends upon the degree of separation of the crystals.
As a rule these clouds hardly diminish the brightness of the day. Before sunrise and after sunset, cirrus is often colored bright yellow or red. These clouds are lit up long before other clouds and fade out much later. These are high altitude clouds.
It was such a wonderful day to be outside and drink in the beauty of the day! I took several shots of this day and you can enjoy all of them in my Series Gallery. I hope you can feel the fresh crisp Fall air when you look!
