Description
This is another shot taken while visiting Franklin Park Conservatory last year. I love the lines, colors and the curves of these beautiful leaves! For those of you familiar with my galleries here, this image reveals what I love in life: Nature, Mother Earth. The artwork of the Great Creator amazes me daily. The stories in the news lately of worldwide marches by young people fighting to save our Earth. The battle against the Climate Crisis hits me deeply. Somehow we must find the will to do this for our children and their children. Scientists have been warning us for years and we are running out of time.
I am not positive of the name of this, but I am positive of its beauty. I believe this to be a Red Abyssinian banana plant. Like bananas, Ensete ventricosum is a large non-woody plant—a gigantic monocarpic evergreen perennial herb which is very large but not a tree. They are native to Ethiopia and Angola. I took this shot at the wonderful Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus, Ohio. This quiet little scene was so beautiful, I forgot to look at the butterflies for a minute!
I really appreciate you taking time to look at my artwork. Thank you so much!
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
